In today’s world, college students are looking for seamless wired and wireless connectivity in dorms, in classrooms, and on campus. Many revered higher education environments were built far before wired or wireless networks were even a concept. And for many, keeping up with the technological demands of today’s hyper-connected world is challenging from both a budgetary and staffing standpoint. Marywood University, a Scranton-based Catholic university, is a perfect example. In late 2018, the university was experiencing the constraints of an aging infrastructure at the same time its leadership was contemplating the expansion of wireless network.
CNI, an HPE Aruba Networking Platinum Partner, has extensive experience in the higher education space, supporting the networking, infrastructure and cybersecurity needs of colleges and universities throughout the Northeast part of the country. HPE Aruba Networking was already working with Marywood on several smaller projects and knew CNI would be a perfect fit in tackling the expansion and upgrade of Maywood’s entire wireless and wired infrastructure.
The combined Aruba/CNI team worked closely with the internal Marywood staff to construct a multi-phase approach to the network upgrade, allowing the university to level out its annual IT spend and have a logical sequence of initiatives that would support their ongoing mission and priorities.
